About the role

The Senior Investment Analyst is responsible for producing high-quality investment research and analysis to inform the organisation’s investment process. The role involves monitoring global markets, assessing economic and asset-class developments, evaluating investment themes and communicating findings in a clear, evidence-led manner. The successful candidate will bring analytical discipline, sound judgement and the ability to explain both the potential merits and risks of an investment idea.

What you’ll do

  • Monitor global financial markets, macroeconomic indicators, monetary and fiscal developments, and relevant news affecting financial assets.
  • Conduct fundamental, quantitative and market-based research across relevant asset classes, sectors, instruments and investment themes.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities by examining performance drivers, valuation, liquidity, volatility, downside exposure and the assumptions underpinning each analysis.
  • Prepare research reports, investment briefs, market updates, presentations and other materials for internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain analytical models, research frameworks and data sources, checking the accuracy and reliability of inputs.
  • Track portfolio and market developments, identify material changes in risk or market conditions, and communicate findings promptly.
  • Work with portfolio operations, finance and risk colleagues to support informed investment discussions and consistent reporting.
  • Maintain clear records of research, sources, assumptions and conclusions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the investment research process.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or another relevant discipline; postgraduate study or a recognised professional qualification is an advantage.
  • Demonstrable professional experience in investment research, financial analysis, asset management or a closely related financial-services role.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment instruments, portfolio concepts and the factors that influence asset prices.
  • Proven ability to interpret financial and economic information, work with quantitative data and develop well-reasoned analytical conclusions.
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills and familiarity with financial data, research tools and presentation software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex findings in a concise and accessible way.
  • High standards of accuracy, independence, professional integrity and attention to detail.
